La Antigua Constitución en el Río de La Plata de la primera mitad del siglo XIX

The Ancient Constitution in Río de La Plata during the first half of the 19th century

The following conference proposes a journey through the main thesis present in the work of the author. It begins with the central thesis, the denial of the Argentine nation preexistence related to the revolution of colonial independence. Later proposes a second thesis that questions the naturalized use of the idea of federalism in the post-independence history in Río de La Plata and finally it highlights the idea of the existence of a “Constitution before the Constitution” or an “Ancient Constitution”: that challenges the historic prejudices over the existences of anarchy or anomy during the post-independence period against the idea of a time when a body of laws and rules, usually unwritten, ordered the life of the people. This emphasizes the most important rule of the natural right: free will.
