Plan Integral de las 600 Hectáreas, Puerto Iguazú, Misiones, Argentina

En la ciudad de Puerto Iguazú en la provincia de Misiones, Argentina, se encuentra uno de los atractivos turísticos más importantes de la Argentina. Las Cataratas constituyen la principal fuente de ingreso a la provincia. En 2004, a través del Decreto Nº 1628/04 se pone en marcha el Plan Maestro con el fin de actualizar las políticas estratégicas integrales que promueven el desarrollo de emprendimientos turísticos-culturales-medioambientales en el área “Iguazú-Cataratas” para fomentar las actividades económicas, respondiendo a las demandas crecientes de los visitantes de Puerto Iguazú y de la región; y con el objeto de ordenar y orientar el desarrollo de emprendimientos en una importante zona de reserva denominada las “600 hectáreas”. El propósito de este artículo es determinar si dicho proyecto se ha transformado en un modelo de desarrollo turístico-local.

In the city of Puerto Iguazu in Misiones, Argentina , it is one of the most important tourist attractions of Argentina. Cataracts are the main source of income to the province. In 2004 through Decree No. 1628-1604 starts the Master plan in order to update the comprehensive strategic policies that promote the development of environmental-cultural-tourism ventures in the “Iguazú-Cataratas“ to promote economic activities, responding to the growing demands of visitors to Puerto Iguazu and the region; and in order to organize and guide the development of enterprises an important reserve area called the “600 hectares. The purpose of this article is to determine whether the project became a model of tourism - local development.
