New uses and meanings of the Guaraní in the development of teaching materials in Corrientes
This article contains the description and analysis of new uses and meanings of the Guarani language within the framework of a project for the development of bilingual Guarani Spanish teaching materials, which were conducted with kids, teachers and locals in two rural primary schools in Corrientes. The linguistic uses described in this article are presented as new due to them being present in scholar situations which had previously not been observed in this way in the sociolinguistic context of the Guarani prohibition discourse. We subsequently argue that the participants involved in the process play a key role as agents of linguistic policy as they actively construct a feasible bilingual education for the province of Corrientes.
