Childhood, image and politics: A brief iconographic analysis of the recent communication strategies on Pakapaka (Argentina)
This article proposes an iconographic analysis of a series of communication pieces, published on the social networks of the Argentinean state-funded children's channel Pakapaka, following the change of the national administration in December 2023. It explores the conceptions that this new government evokes about what it means to be a child, taking up some elements of hegemonic models born in modern Europe two centuries ago, but which still survive in the vernacular imagination. In this way, concepts such as "indoctrination" re-emerge to understand the relationship between childhood and political praxis. It also highlights the importance of images and the symbolic dimension of and in governmental communication strategies, paying particular attention to the aesthetic principle of political action.
